Uni-Life – which has now been selected to ‘The Elite 200’, the global list of semifinalists in the ed-tech GSV Cup – now offers to help colleges/universities lower their dropout rates, recruit more international students, and better understand current student needs. Un-Life already works with some of the most esteemed universities in Europe, including Erasmus University Rotterdam, Tilburg University, and TU Delft, among others.
The worldwide education technology market value was well over $100 billion last year and is growing annually at more than 16%. Within this market, enhancing student engagement is becoming a top priority for educators. While grades are still important at colleges and universities, administrators, staff, and students are defining success in broader terms and tailoring campus support to match that understanding.
Creating meaningful, interactive experiences between teachers and students, as well as connecting students with one another, will be important to maintaining student engagement. This represents both a short and long-term challenge, as engagement levels globally – among selected institutions in the U.S., Asia, and Europe – dropped from almost 70% to 64% between 2020 and 2021, according to one report.
Uni-Life’s platform allows students to see all of their university’s activities, organizations, groups, and opportunities – helping them to get more involved and connected within the campus community. Students can organize meetings with other students, find all relevant events, activities, and initiatives, or form their own student communities.
The company will provide universities with data insights on student interests, activity, and involvement. On their personal dashboard, administrators can see a real-time summary of what’s going on and receive weekly or monthly data overviews with additional information. Uni-Life’s community team will help colleges and universities not only with the implementation of the product but by filling it with content and promoting it to students throughout the year.
Administrators are encouraged to view the Uni-Life demo which allows users to create a test environment with their unique specifications and share the demo environment with colleagues, students, and affiliated organizations.
One student commented: “Uni-Life is an amazing app which is very helpful if you’re a new student in town and don’t know where to meet new people. It’s also nice when you just want to broaden your circle and get out of your comfort zone. I would recommend.”
