Jonathan Low explains that one of the biggest reasons that coaches, consultants, and health professionals struggle to get clients is because they use the wrong marketing approach. Often, marketing experts offer services that aren’t ideal for the client.
A typical marketing service is either geared towards direct marketing and sales, or a very broad brand based approach. While, for some industries, this can be effective, for most small, medium and niche businesses, a more tailored approach is needed.
This is especially true when companies have a smaller budget for marketing and advertising. Jonathan says that a common way for businesses to try and address this is to take on a complex marketing approach, such as automation or sales funnels.
The real problem lies in the way that companies describe the services on offer. There is often a big language disconnect between the client and the business, which can lead to confusion and less than stellar results.
Jonathan Low states: “While that disconnect is there it is extremely difficult to get any marketing and advertising to work. You are in effect only ever speaking to a very small portion of your potential market.”
He adds: “The solution is to work on your core marketing message and translate it in such a way that both you and your ideal clients are speaking the same language. Very few businesses do this which means those who do have a huge advantage.”
