Choice Physio, a private Physiotherapy practice that has grown within Sawbridgeworth, and has recently moved into an expanded premises at 47 Bell Street, Sawbridgeworth. The clinic was previously located in Bell Pharmacy in Bell Street, but required a larger premises to respond to the increasing demand for the local service.
Katy Short (the clinic owner and Lead Physiotherapist) is passionate about helping people, and is keen to continue providing the service to the local community in the town where she grew up. Katy qualified with a First Class Honours degree in Physiotherapy, and has undertaken a number of post graduate studies including Acupuncture. Since qualifying, Katy has worked in both private practice and the NHS, and has also worked as a Physiotherapist for the Ministry of Defence.
Katy Short explained that “Choice Physio offers a range of treatments for both acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions and sports injuries. Such treatments include manual therapy, acupuncture, sports and remedial massage, taping and exercise / post-operative rehabilitation.”
Private paying patients are able to self refer and book directly for treatment and the clinic is registered with a range of Health Insurance providers for those with cover (some insurers may require a GP referral). A range of appointment times are available from 9am and up until 8pm on certain weekdays.
“The Choice Physio team work hard to keep waiting times to a minimum, in order to help people with injury or pain as quickly as possible” added Katy. “The clinic is on the ground floor and has wheelchair access, however home / care home visits can be arranged for those unable to get to the premises.”
Choice Physio has been serving the Sawbridgeworth area since 2015 and Katy Short is recognized is a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and the Health and Care Professions Council.
