The new reports explore the various applications of the automated vertical storage system as used in warehouse settings and for archival purposes. Specifically, they show their Modula VLM system acting as a centralized storage solution in a variety of circumstances.
Vertical lift storage uses a drawer-based system, with each drawer represented in the integrated database along with the inventory within. Drawers can be freely recalled using the interface, delivered to the operator via a conveyor-and-pulley mechanism which requires no heavy equipment and which can support up to 2,200 lbs of cargo per drawer.
Bradford Systems explains that their vertical storage solutions are intended to help consolidate inventory and free up floor space, in some cases increasing available space by up to 90%. They emphasize that these systems are highly customizable and operate using software that can be fully integrated with a given company’s central database, regardless of industry.
By digitally tracking both inventory and access, the system is also intended to improve transparency and accountability. The actions of each operator, including what inventory was accessed and when, are tracked in the proprietary Bradford Systems software, effectively preventing duplicate order filling and improving communication.
A spokesperson explains further, “Our experienced team is devoted to working hand in hand with our clients to solve storage and design problems of varying size and complexity. We design highly efficient and cost-effective systems to manage materials and information. Our job is to align the best physical and digital means of information and material storage in order to create holistic storage systems.”
