-- Chord Melody Guitar Music announces the arrival of a complete course for learning how to play guitar by professional recording artist Chet Atkins. Although the world famous country guitarist recorded and produced dozens of record albums during the course of his career, he only released one instructional course of official Chet Atkins tab books and DVDs for learning how to play some of his signature solo guitar pieces.
The Chet Atkins guitar course is separated into two parts. The first section is a tab book/DVD combination called “Get Started On Guitar”. In this part, Chet teaches how to play several of his solo guitar pieces including “Yesterday”, “Greensleeves” and “Country Roads” explaining them one note at a time on the DVD. He also teaches some of the intros and endings that he uses for each song. Split screen close-ups on the DVD let the aspiring guitarist see each hand playing the guitar parts at the same time for easy learning.
The second part of the Chet Atkins guitar course called “The Guitar Of Chet Atkins” is a DVD that comes with a PDF on the disc that contains all of the solo guitar pieces for easy printing. In this section, Chet teaches numerous famous solos that he recorded on various albums throughout his career including “When You Wish Upon A Star”, “Danny Boy”, “Lover Come Back To Me” and ”Mr. Bojangles”. Once again he also explains some of his signature intros and endings and demonstrates them with split screen DVD close-ups of both hands.
