The Standard 11 Mining Induction course announcement will be of interest to anyone seeking to work in Queensland’s surface coal mines or HR/training managers seeking to recruit and train individuals to work in the field. The Standard 11 Mining Induction (GI) course is the most universally accepted induction program in Australian mining and is a requirement for working on any coal mine in Queensland.

The three-day course provides participants with the necessary risk assessment and safety skills, and knowledge required to work on mine sites in Queensland. The program is valid for five years, after which participants must undertake a one-day refresher program to update their skills.

The program includes units of competency in communicating in the workplace, complying with site work processes and procedures, working safely and following WHS policies and procedures, conducting local risk control, applying initial response first aid, and responding to local emergencies and incidents.

A spokesperson for Krause Health and Safety said, “There is no prerequisite training to join the Standard 11 Mining Induction course, and all learning materials are included in the course fees. The only things participants need to bring with them are a pair of closed-in shoes and a readiness to learn.”

Krause Health and Safety was established in 1996 and is a second-generation, family-owned, and operated business. The company prides itself on offering a friendly and professional service while investing in agile business practices to meet the training needs of today’s modern businesses.

Krause Health and Safety also offer training programs in WHS auditing, workplace inspections, onsite safety coverage, safety management plans & system development, preparing and conducting training or inductions, risk assessment and hazard analysis, and accident investigation.
