-- Local Water Experts seeks to interview local water experts that can help new residents select the best choice of water treatment equipment for their new home when they move into new regions of the country. Over 90,000 newcomers have moved into the Boise area within the last year. Each was likely faced with water that is very different from where they came.
Tim McKay is a local water expert serving the Boise and Southwest Idaho area with 24 years of experience. We asked Tim for an interview to help new Boise area residents understand why testing and evaluating individual home water supplies is important prior to selecting a company, equipment or service. This interview and others can be seen at:

Our interview on the Testing and evaluation subject is a little less than eight minutes. We think it is a must-watch for Boise area newcomers and well worth the time. Tim said “One of the main complaints he sees from Boise area residents is white scale buildup on their fixtures which is a result from rock in their water”.
Each private water well in the Boise, Meridian, Nampa, Treasure Valley, and Southwest Idaho area has unique levels of contaminants such as hardness, iron, arsenic, nitrates, and odors. Contaminants can cause problems for homeowners such as brown, blue or green stains, nasty smells, destruction of home plumbing appliances, white scale or scum build up on shower walls, fixtures, hair, and skin.
Tim has helped hundreds of consumers choose home water treatment methods over his years in the industry. He determines what specific combinations of treatment methods can best solve each water supply problem whether in the city or private well water. After testing, he then recommends equipment or services based on performance, water usage, and family budgets.
