Earlier today, BCCB-Sparkle (Best Carpet Cleaning Birmingham) finally announced the beginning of its new Powerful Green Eco Friendly Carpet Cleaning Service service, which has been in development and since 2016. The main aim is using plant based solutions to provide superior cleaning and deodorising results, be much safer for staff and customers by being mild but powerful (completely detergent free)…. but it does so, with a difference.
Garry Technician, Technical advisor at BCCB, says: “We both wanted and needed to try something new with this Powerful Green Eco Friendly Carpet Cleaning Service service. Anyone familiar with the office, commercial & domestic carpet cleaning market will probably have noticed how everyone else seems to use very strong chemicals to achieve a quick result. . This is a problem because this can permanently damage fibres. We needed a fresh approach”
So as a welcome breath of fresh air, BCCB will instead use magnetically charged miniature particles that vibrate within the solution. Paticles with a similar magnetic charge repel each other. Multiply this by a few million and you have a huge amount of tiny particles “wizzing around” in the solution. This is a similar effect to bullets ricocheting about inside a building. These particles attack anything organic. This breaks down dirt, bacteria and viruses without using strong or dangerous chemicals. They don’t need the strong detergents to work effectively. If the product was left in contact with the fabric and fibres for a long time, rather than causing damage, it just does a more effective job. It is particularly good at dealing with odours in soft furnishings (where bacteria is a problem) such as carpets, rugs and upholstery. There is no perfumed after-smell, just fresh air.
BCCB chose to make this move because the first priority is the health of the cleaner and the client. “If we can get great results using mild, natural products that are not strong or dangerous it is better for all. It was not that long ago that some pretty heavy duty solutions were used. Technicians often suffered sore throats and respiratory problems from using harsh products. Clients also suffered. We’d like to think that the industry is growing up and to use a pun, is finally cleaning up it’s act.”
.Amazingly, it is based on technology originating from Roman times. Although nano particle is a relatively new scientific concept (circa 1860s), the original techniques were used by both the Romans and the medieval Muslim artisans. The Muslims were able to give the impression of gold painting or solid gold without actually using it. They managed to infuse these tiny particles into molten glass to give the desired effect. It is only in recent times however that the uses of these tiny articles has crossed over into the medical and cleaning fields.
