-- What do mud, sharks, telescopes, and owl pellets all have in common? They are all on the “Best holiday STEM toys of 2016” list, produced by The Guide for Toys.

There are many STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) toys in multiple categories – engineering toys, science toys, math toys. There are also several lists of these toys – but no easy way to really choose the best. So most people give up and just buy a gift card. BORING!

Patrick Bieser, the CEO of The Guide For Toys, explains their approach to finding the best STEM toys.

“Using our meta-analysis approach to reviews, we seek out any and all information about a product. From the manufacturer, to public blogs, and everything in between, we find, sift through, and scrutinize everything that has been said about a toy. We care about quaility and we know you do to, so we want to help you make better toy decisions for the kids you care about.

Your gift-giving is about to get really easy. Choose from one of the nine toys on our list. You’ll have the best engineering toy for a girl, or the best puzzle.

Even better, you’ll be giving the kids in your life something fun – a toy that will last, that will engage them, and that they will love. So will you!

The list includes some standard items, like a telescope or microscope. But there are outside-the-box toys also. How about a model shark that lets you see all the way inside? Or the ability to create electricity from mud? What kid doesn’t like to play with mud? Or explore the bones and skulls inside owl pellets – fully sanitized, but the real stuff that owls ate and then, um, regurgitated. Very few kids can resist the excitement of opening up those pellets!

The Guide for Toys is independent and unbiased, with the mission to provide in-depth, authoritative, and honest reviews of toys. Real toys, real reviews, for real people.
