One of the 'Kids Eat Free on Thursdays' menu highlights is Junior Chicken or Pork Schnitzel Fingers - a bite-sized adaptation of the traditional hand-breaded and fried dish. This kid-friendly favorite is accompanied by house-made brown gravy or Jager-style sauce with mushrooms and onions. Also known as Hunter’s sauce, Jager sauce blends earthy flavors originally intended to enhance the taste of hunted game meats.
Another choice is the Smiling Wiener Dog. Typically made from ground pork and beef and mildly seasoned, this foot-long sausage is served like a smiling face with a side of mustard. Alternatively, children can enjoy Fisch & Taters with Helga’s Haus & Bier Garden’s catch of the day, fries, tartar sauce, and lemon.
Adults can choose from 3 of the most popular types of schnitzel in the Rhineland area of Germany - the restaurant owners’ ancestral home. Other dishes include Rouladen Pfälzischer Art, consisting of thinly sliced, rolled, certified Angus beef filled with onions, bacon, and pickles. They can also opt for The Bratwurst Dinner, which features a traditional blend of smoked pork and beef or veal sausage, infused with Paulaner beer and black pepper, charbroiled over live coals.
The restaurant also serves duck confit, venison, goulash, and smoked boneless ham shank seasonal specials with soup or salad along with a selection of gluten-free and vegetarian options. All adult entrees come with a choice of 2 sides, while children’s meals include 1, with options such as vegetables, rice, sauerkraut, or delicacies like Spätzle.
In addition to their main meal, customers can order a wide range of imported German tap beers, wine, cocktails, specialty and soft drinks, as well as desserts. The Kids Eat Free on Thursdays offer is limited to one complimentary meal per entrée and reserved for dine-in customers only.
