The newly announced show dates will showcase southern country rock music from Russ and the band’s six albums and will include setlists full of energetic American music.

Russ Still has been singing all of his life and performs both solo gigs and dates with his band. The Moonshiners were named Georgia Music Award’s Country Band of the Year in 2015. Russ’s music includes country and southern rock with touches of folk music.

His new album was released in February and is titled Southern Born and Raised. Song titles include Mud on My Boots, Goin’ Alabama, Bad Stretch of Road, She Can’t Kiss, and more. The tracks can be heard on Spotify at

Russ plays piano and guitar and is the lead vocalist with the band. The Moonshiners include his son Ben Still on guitar, Jonnie Burman on bass, Mitch Flanders on drums, and David Leonard on guitar. Every member contributes to the vocals.

Live country performances that don’t feature pyrotechnics and auto-tuning are a rarity. Russ Still and the Moonshiners deliver a true country-rock sound.

Russ Still was born in Alabama and started playing and singing in a band at the age of 15. His sound has been crafted from decades of live performing constantly all over the south.

Russ writes songs about real life and truth from his viewpoint. These lyrics and the experience level in the band contribute to the authenticity of their sound and have attracted a dedicated following called Moonshiner Nation.

Russ is enjoying being able to spend more time making music with regular performing since retiring from a 40-year career as a healthcare business consultant. He says, “I’m completely passionate about my music. I told a friend I’ve never worked as hard for so little but never had as much fun. Every day is a new adventure.”
