Philadelphia air conditioning contractors are helping homeowners replace outdated or broken furnaces by offering low, fixed rate financing. Through the re-emergence of the Keystone Home Energy Loan Program (KeystoneHELP), Pennsylvania homeowners can get from $2,500 to $20,000 at a fixed rate of 4.99%, for a limited time, for energy efficiency upgrades to their homes. The affordable upfront funding can be used to upgrade to high efficiency windows, a new solar system, heating and cooling systems, High R-Value insulation, dishwashers and other appliances as well. The loans are fixed-rate with longer terms than traditional bank loans and there is no penalty for prepayment. A KeystoneHELP registered contractor can review the energy saving products eligible for financing to come up with a custom upgrade plan that is right for homeowners as well as assist with the application process.

Gov. Tom Wolf stated, “Thousands of Pennsylvania homeowners have already benefited significantly from home upgrades made possible by the KeystoneHELP program, and now many more homeowners will be able to take advantage of this program”.
Initially launched in 2006, KeystoneHELP is a public/private partnership between Renew Financial, the Pennsylvania Treasury, and PENNVEST. It allowed thousands of Pennsylvania homeowners access to up to $15,000 at competitive loan rates. The program gained national attention prompting the creation of other similar residential energy efficiency financing programs by other states across the country. Due to a lack of funding, the state sponsored loan program went dormant in July 2014. Prior to going dormant, the partnership was awarded the 2013 Stars of Energy Efficiency award from the Alliance to Save Energy and also won several other energy efficiency awards. The re-launched KeystoneHELP is a special state sponsored financing program that is designed specifically for contractors in the HVAC, remodeling, and energy efficiency home improvement business. Registered contractors can provide consumers with instant in-home approval on low fixed monthly payment financing for all makes and models of Energy Star rated heating and cooling, windows and doors, insulation, light and more.
“Revitalizing KeystoneHELP is a tremendous opportunity for Pennsylvania to continue our leadership in reducing air and water pollution in the commonwealth and in the nation,” said DEP Secretary John Quigley. “The cleanest electron is the one that you don’t have to produce, and through KeystoneHELP, we can cut down on air pollution from electricity generation while keeping more of consumers’ money in their wallets.”
Philadelphia air conditioning contractors and other remodeling companies across the state that install energy efficient home improvements can attend upcoming free seminars to learn more about the market opportunity for energy upgrades throughout the state. Home remodeling contractors and companies can get program updates and details about KeystoneHELP’s marketing programs that they can use in sales efforts as well. Events in Pennsylvania are statewide and scheduled throughout the month of July with the first one being held in the Lehigh Valley on July 7th. It will be at the Holiday Inn and Conference Center in Breinigsville and will begin at 7:30am with breakfast and networking.
Contractors must be approved by Renew Financial to perform work under the program. Information on how to become an approved KeystoneHELP contractor will be available at the free siminars.
