2024 Self-Employed Tax Credit for Contractors: FFCRA Refund Calculator Announced

Fintitan has announced its financial services for contractors and gig workers who want to find out if they qualify for the self-employed tax credit under the FFCRA program.

Following a recent announcement, Fintitan now offers its assistance to self-employed workers who want to find out if they're eligible for the SETC (Self-Employed Tax Credit.) The financial service provider has designed a simple process for calculating the refund and filing the claim with the IRS.

The SETC was legislated under the Families First Coronavirus Response Act by Congress. The initiative was initially focused on providing employers with W-2 employees with financial aid but was extended to include self-employed workers in December 2020. However, 80% of self-employed are not aware that they're eligible.

The deadline for 2020 tax periods passed earlier this year, but it's still possible for contractors, self-employed, freelancers, and gig workers to claim the SETC retroactively until the 15th of April 2025.

"We get it right the first time. Built by financial experts and tax attorneys to ensure the right questions are asked, the correct numbers are calculated, and all documents are accurately completed," a company spokesperson said.

Due to a widespread issue with improper or fraudulent claims related to the employee retention tax credit, the IRS issued a moratorium on new claims in September 2023. The agency warned business owners of aggressive tax promoters who made excessive claims, as many high-risk applications were linked with them. The moratorium was lifted this summer after an almost year-long investigation

Fintitan emphasizes IRS compliance and has three teams of accountants review all applications to ensure that they are audit-proof.

A previous client who got over $23,000 back shared their testimonial: "I was a stylist before COVID lockdowns and had no savings to get me through. Luckily, I'm working again and getting back on my feet, thanks to Fintitan getting me the tax credits I was owed. I didn't even know there were tax credits for stylists!"
