While America is in the middle of facing down a global epidemic, that has not slowed down DJ Maddy Rose from chasing after her goals of becoming the best in her field. As she remains a positive and upbeat light for her community, many are starting to take notice of just what this young talented 7th grader has in store.
Hailing from the 4th largest city in America (Houston, Tx), DJ Maddy Rose found her passion with turntables at just the tender age of 10. Her mom’s friend, Senega Iles, of Premier Sound And Lighting, is an established DJ in his own right and heard of how much Maddy loved music. So his response was, “Let’s try to have her DJ.” And since then, Maddy has stuck with it and excelled.
The 7 grader’s first DJ’ing gig was at her own birthday party. There she showcased her honed abilities for her family and friends. Soon after Senega Iles started telling clients who were calling to book him to DJ their events, that he had someone even better: a 12-year-old girl named DJ Maddy Rose. Senega says “They thought it was a gimmick, but tell them this little girl is as good as me, if not better. And once they see her, the cameras can’t stop, and it gives so much publicity to these events.”
On Thursday, April 16th, DJ Maddy Rose will be featured live on Good Morning America at 9 AM CST. The broadcast will take place on ABC. Though this will not be her first interview, it will be the most exposure she’s ever received. During her segment, DJ Maddy Rose also plans to introduce her goal of raising $5,000 to give to the national campaign No Hungry Kid, created by the non-profit Share Our Strength. All the proceeds will go to No Kid Hungry, with the goal to help feed hungry as many hungry children, working towards ending child hunger.
On the same day, in the evening, Maddy will also do a live DJ set on Twitch TV which is scheduled for 8 PM CST. She can be found on there by the handle djmaddyrose or at this link: twitch.tv/djmaddyrose.
