-- New evidence provides proof that inflammation is a contributing factor in cases of heart disease and stroke, spurring a pioneering paradigm shift in existing therapies from the focus of reducing cholesterol toward reducing inflammation. These findings support the idea that inflammation is the culprit behind cholesterol accumulation in blood vessel walls, which leads to vascular damage.

Cardiologist Dr. Dwight Lundell says this new evidence is supported by the discovery that inflammation in the arterial wall is the real cause of heart disease, saying, “Simply stated, without inflammation being present in the body, there is no way that cholesterol would accumulate in the wall of the blood vessel and cause heart disease and strokes. Without inflammation, cholesterol would move freely throughout the body as nature intended — it is inflammation that causes cholesterol to become trapped.”

Lundell has performed over 5,000 open-heart surgeries and reports that, in his 25 years of experience, inflammation is the common denominator in the diseased arteries he’s come across. He contributes the source of chronic inflammation to a system overload in the body, triggered by highly processed simple carbohydrates like flour and sugar, and all products that contain them. He also advised limiting the intake of omega-6 vegetable oils, like corn, sunflower, and soybean – often found in processed foods, in addition to low magnesium and excessive irregular breathing, which also contribute to chronic inflammation.

Flora Edwards, spokesperson for VascuVite, was thrilled to hear a renowned cardiologist shed light on the damaging effects of chronic inflammation, saying, “Inflammation is created by the immune system’s natural defense against foreign invaders, including bacteria, toxins, viruses, and consumption of unnatural products that the body doesn’t recognize. When chronic inflammation is reduced, it allows the body’s essential functions to work as they should. With this new, ground-breaking discovery, our community takes one more step in the right direction – toward finding a better way to treat conditions many suffer from.”
